Niceland: (10) A walk on the glacier

Walk on the Svínafellsjökull glacier tongue, part of the Vatnajökull glacier (the biggest ice field in the world a part from the Poles). Despite the black ash over the ice deposited by a volcanic explosion, the scenery and views were simply stunning. We walk through a wonderland of glacial ice sculptures, meandering through ice ridges and the deep crevasses of the glacier. Crampons and ice axes required.
